The Carbon Laser Peel (“The Hollywood Peel”)

We are delighted to introduce the Carbon Laser Peel, better known as 'The Hollywood Peel'. This painless procedure with no downtime refines the pores and provides a radiant glow.

The light wavelength used is 1064nm, which treats the collagen fibers deep within the dermal layers of the skin. The reactivation treatment combats a slowdown in the lack of collagen production by the fibroplasts, which is a natural side-effect of ageing. In addition to the deeper effects, the surface results are noticeable with the skin showing a firmer, glowing, plumper look. Treatment can also help to eliminate pigment changes, fine lines, and acne scars.

The treatment last circa 45-minutes and includes a cleanse, prior to special protective goggles being placed over the eyes. A carbon solution is added to the skin to absorb the heat and to transfer it to the skin’s deeper layers. Once the treatment begins, the laser’s energy lightly removes the carbon particles by gently heating the upper layer of skin to break down the damaged areas. The process is similar to a combination of exfoliation and a mud mask.

Unlike some laser treatments which feel like a rubber band on the skin, The Hollywood Peel is fairly gentle and painless. There is no downtime after the session and make-up can be applied immediately. The results are immediate and improve even more after 2-3 days.

The Hollywood terminology is due to A-list celebrities having the treatment.

It’s the perfect treatment for a bride or for any special occasion.

How many treatment are necessary?

The number of laser treatments for unwanted pigmentation will vary depending on the condition being treated and how each individual responds.

For tattoo removal, the size, location and density of ink play important roles in how quickly clearance can be achieved, but 3-4 treatments is common for modern tattoos.

How long does the result last?

Tattoo removal and acne scar results are permanent. Skin rejuvenation treatment results are long lasting, but some pigment conditions can be recovered.

Will there be scarring?

The MÖ Laser is designed with safety, and the scarring is minimal. Tattoo removal treatments require higher energy than skin rejuvenation and some patients may experience hypo pigmentation but this is usually temporary.

What is the recovery time?

Recovery times are dependent on the condition being treated and each patient’s ability to heal. Usual treatment intervals are 6-8 weeks for tattoo removal. Treatments intervals for acne scars and skin rejuvenation using the fractional lens are 3-4 weeks.

Is the laser safe?

The MÖ Laser ultra-fast pulses work to minimize the amount of heat that is transferred. Less heat means less damage to surrounding skin and less risk of damage.

Should the client avoid sun after treatment?

After laser treatments for tattoos removal and pigmentation, the skin is more easily susceptible to damage from sunlight. Therefore minimizing sun exposure and use of sunscreen of SPF30+ is necessary.

How long does the treatment procedure take?

It depends on the size of the area to be treated, and 10 minutes is common for average sized tattoo and skin rejuvenation treatments.

What does the laser treatment feel like?

Most clients experience very little discomfort and describe skin revitalisation treatments as feeling like the snapping of a rubber band. Because tattoo removal treatments use more energy, patients may experience more discomfort, but the treatment provider should be able to offer numbing cream or other aids to minimise discomfort.

What is the post-treatment advice for clients?
