Platelet-Rich Plasma
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new MÖ Centrifuge PRP system for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments.
PRP has been effectively used in orthopaedic medicine; sports medicine; musculo-skeletal medicine; and particularly within cosmetic aesthetic treatments - especially skin rejuvenation for the promotion and restoration of new skin collagen.
PRP is also popular for hair loss as researchers believe in its ability to stimulate dormant / dying hair follicles. PRP treatment is part of a new treatment sector known as ‘Orthobiologics’ which merges cutting-edge biological treatment technological with the body's natural ability to heal itself.

PRP is produced from a person’s own blood, which is made of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. Platelets are one type of blood cells which play a multi-functional role the body, including the promotion of blood clotting to reduce excessive bleeding; and releasing healing proteins called growth factors to help wound healing. By increasing these platelets, we are able to deliver an amplified mixture of growth factors that can dramatically enhance tissue recovery.
Platelets and the liquid plasma portion of the blood contain may factors that are essential for the cell recruitment, multiplication and specialisation that are required for healing.
After a blood sample is obtained from a client, the blood is put into a centrifuge, which spins at high speed, separating the blood into its many components. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) can then be collected, treated and administered via injection.
PRP has become widely publicised over the past half-decade as numerous athletes and celebrities undergo Platelet Rich Plasma injections.
The side effects of PRP injections are very limited as the client is utilising their own blood, which they should have no reaction to. The entire procedure takes about 45 minutes to one hour, and there is little to no post-treatment downtime.

Is PRP safe?
Yes, the procedure itself is safe. There may be some slight pain, and any bruising and / or swelling will tend to go away within 1-2 days.
How long does it take to see results?
Clients will see results straight away and the full effects will appear within a few weeks.
How many PRP injections do you need?
Researchers have found that most clients have 3 or more treatments, however this depends upon the treatment type and the condition of the client.
Can PRP be combined with other treatments?
Yes. To give clients more immediate results, can be combined with other treatments such as the Hollywood Peel and / or the photodynamic light treatments.
Who can have PRP rejuvenation?
While PRP is considered safe for most people, it’s not recommended for anyone who has any one of the following medical conditions:

HIV or AIDS

Any type of blood cancer

Skin cancer

Cardiovascular disease, which requires taking a blood thinner
How long do the results last?
Results can last as long as 18 months, and clinics should receive a top-up treatment once per year.
